–Sikkim Against Addiction and Healthy

A grand programme
was organized by SAATHI members of Govt. Sr. Sec. School Sombarey, West Sikkim
on 1st March 2017 at the school auditorium. The programme started
with welcome speech by the school in charge followed by speech by coordinator
SAATHI Mr. D.K. Rai of the school, who described the aim and
objective of SAATHI and the vision of Honorable Chief Minister to make Sikkim a
drug addiction free state. The chief
Guest of the day was Dr. A.D. Subba, Advisor to health Department, who in his
address to the gathering illustrated the vital importance of health habits. The
resources person of the programme was Dr. B.K.Chauhan PHC Sombarey and Mrs.
Hema Chettri Constable from Sombarey PS. Both the resources person described
the effected of drug abuse from health
point of view and legal point of view respectively . Further Mrs. Nim. Diki.
Sherpa member of School managing committee and member of child protection right and welfare Sikkim,
expressed the about the relation of good hygiene and good habits. The programme
was attended by Mr. A.B. Subba Assistant Director HRDD, BAC Daramdin, ASI Mr. N.B. Chamling Thana Sombarey, Senior
citizen Mr. Sita Ram Chandak, Mr. D.P
Rai President SMC, panchayats, president of Sombarey Bazaar Samiti, President
of Amar Jyoti club, president Jan kalyan samiti. Principal Model English
School, in charge Rumbuk JHS and teacher from various private school of the
surrounding. The programme attended by
the student of that very school and from Woodstock High school, Sunrise Academy
Sombarey along with about 150 parent of the school.
