SOMBAREY SIKKIM INDIA


SOMBAREY is small market in the western part of Sikkim an state in northeast India. It is the most beautiful place in the world because because it is my birth place. So, I just made up my mind to show it to the world through my amateur photography. Hope you like it .

SOMBAREY SIKKIM INDIA

SOMBAREY is small part of the Himalayan state Sikkim situated in the west end and sandwiched between West Bengal and Nepal . It's name came into existence due to the market day that is MONDAY ( sombar- Nepali language) Previously it was called Dalom and politically called Daramdin ,but the name SOMBAREY popular and some plain people also spell it sombaria . It has 10,000+ population (2003 report) and area code as S21. Barsey Rhododendron sanctuary crowns the place on the top and River Ringyang and river Rambang runs in her two sides to join River Teesta later. It has range of climate from very hot Lower Thambong to very cold (snow line ) Hillay . The crop grown here are paddy, wheat, millet, ginger, cardamom, beans, orange, potatoes, peas ,cabbages etc. State Government agriculture department has introduced cut flower ROSE and fruit APPLE in the area. It has 7 gram panchayat units, 1 primary health center, 1 Police station, 1 senior secondary school , 3 secondary school , 3 junior high school, and 2 Banks ( SBS & SBI).

The potatoes is the most popular agricultural product and one potapoes research center is also working at Hilley.
