woodstock gets medical awareness



On 4th April 2014 a general Health Awareness Programme was conducted by Woodstock high School Sombarey, West Sikkim. The programme was to create general awareness among student about the good health and inculcate in them the positive attitude towards life. The   programme  was conducted with the help of medical staff  from primary Health Center Sombarey comprising  pharmacist Mr. Anil Pradhan, dentist  Ms. Priyanka  Pradhan and nurse Ms. Medina Lepcha. The programme started with the welcome speech by Ms. Kingchok Bhutia followed by Sir B.B. Chettri and others.
During the programme about 152 students was informed about the value and importance of balanced diet, precaution from dog bite and rabies, adolescent and stress, dental and oral hygiene.
At the end the Principal Mr. Indra Rai  ended the program with stressed that one should value their own health . He mentioned the growing habit of junk food, fast food and computer games  has lessen the activities of  today’s student and has developed depression which lead to suicidal  tendencies in future for which such health awareness programme can play a vital role .
