SHANTI PUJA AT SOMBAREY
A Grand Shanti puja was organized in Shiva mandir in Sombarey on 1st September 2009. The Shiva temple is just below the land slide that occurred on the 19th Aug that claimed two lives As the majority of people with Hindu belief believe that the landslide is due to no good puja in the recent years. The puja has been organized by the Amar Jyoti Sangh of upper Thambong assisted by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Sai Samati, Manav Dharma, Satya Hangma ( limbo organization ), Buddhist community with their representative form Anden Monastery and Marwari Manch Sombarey. The puja or performed by three Hindu Priest , Buddhist Monks and two priest from Satya Hamgma (Limboo tribal). The ceremony was organized the whole day with mantra chanting the whole day . For the Puja the donation was collected from the surrounding. About 320 devotees were present in the ceremony among them was Headmaster mangsari JHS Mr. B R Koirala, Headmaster Tharpu SS Mr. M K khewa, Branch Manager SBS Sombarey, BO Ribdi Mrs. Santa Subba, Principal Sunrise Academy and others. The Bhajans Sandhaya was organized in the evening for the peace of the departed soul in the landslide among whom Late Mr. Pasmani Pradhan was Sai Baba Devotee. Who had also stayed in the serve of SAI BABA at Puttapatti in Bangalore for nine years.
