Biodiversity conservation programme and fund distribution.
A Programme was organized by Voluntary Health Association of Sikkim (VHAS) to the 13 school of Daramdin constituency under the fringe of Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary(BRS). The objective of the programme was to distribute fund to the school to revive Eco-Club and organize a programme to create awareness among the student and local communities about the bio-diversity of the area with special reference to BRS. In the programme Dr. P. C. Rai Project Director VHAS Gangtok emphasized on the importance of conservation of Biodiversity and role of school to catch the future citizen (student) young . He said investment in young is worth. He also elaborated on the utilization of fund and report presentation as per the NGO norms. The BDO daramdin was present as the Chief Guest spoke on the local issue of conservation of environment. He said we have lend the environment from our ancestor and have to pass it our child so on the mean time let us try to make it better. Assistant Director HRDD BAC Daramdin Mr. H.P. Sanker thanked VHAS and extended full co-operation , he also urged the participant teachers to take immediate initiative to organize the awareness camp and submit report. Headmaster of 13 school, AEO HRDD, Coordinator SSA HRDD were present.
