SPORT FESTIVAL

GOVERNMENT SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL SOMBAREY, WEST SIKKIM
First time in the history Government Senior secondary school Sombarey, west Sikkim a Annual Sport festival was organized by the school. The idea was conceived by the Principal Mrs. Manju Subba supported by her dedicated staffs. The festival stated from 11th Oct 2010 to 13 Oct 10. The first day witnessed the event like table tennis, badminton and volley played between the four house of the school. The second have debate, science , quiz and poem recitation in the list. In the third and the final day thereby football match and colourful cultural show was presented . The final day started with warm welcome and brief report on the sport festival by the Principal. In her speech she highlighted the importance of games and sport that brings in students- discipline, physical endurance , team work and sense of dignity in them , thus developing non-scholastic area of the student which is vital according to new pattern of marking in the examination.
The chief guest of the day Mr N.T Lepcha Zilla member west District also shared his experiences and said the sportman can achieve higher post in society.
The final football was won by Yellow house. Best house was declared as Red House followed by Yellow House, Green house and Blue House.
Best Athletic boys was Samir hang Subba and best girls Athletic was Roshmi Lepcha .
Guest of honour was Mr. Sangey Yalmoo manager State bank of India Sombarey branch and Dr. Sangita Subba MO. Other guest present were Mr. Sita Ram Chandak Govt. Contractor, Mr. Namgyal Bhutia Govt. Contractor, Mr. Purna Hang Subba Panchayat U. thambong, headmaster and teacher of Feeder School.

DALOM SPORTS ASSOCIATION

DALOM SPORTS ASSOCIATION IS ONE OF THE MAJOR SPORTS CLUB IN DARAMDIN CONSTITUENCY. It was founded long time back but got its main attention after the pratronship was taken over by Mr. R.B Subba minister PWD . Govt. of Sikkim. now it is one of the annual social festival where all community, religion, cast and clubs waits in this constituency and beyond. The player of national level and some Nigerian player have played in this ground under DSA Banner.Most of the governor's gold cup player attend the match as player. One of the main product of this association is Sanju Pradhan who is presently player of East Bengal. Almost all the top player of Sikkim and darjeeling have player this cup.it is not just the game but the cultural show and different kind of show is praise worthy.

THIS YEAR TOO DSA IS PLANNING A GRAND TOURNAMENT FOR THE PEOPLE AND THE GAME .
SO COME MAKE THIS EVEN BIGGER .

daramdin secondary school was renamed after KRIPASHALYAN a kirat poet.

bojek land slide

Bojek Landslide is near Ringyang river that divides Daramdin and Soreng constituency in west Sikkim . It has been the most disturbing road in recent year. this road is important for the resident of Daramdin Constituency that includes Sombarey, Okherey, Hilley and effect the business of cut flower like Rose from daramdin . this was been closed for last forth night till this report. people have to cross this by foot in their own risk or motor via Soreng to go Jorethang , Gangtok or other places.

football in RUMBUK

independence day football tournament 2010 is going on at Rumbuk , sombarey, west sikkim. The matches started from 28th Julu 2010 with 28 tram from the surrounding. The tournament was inaugurated by area MLA Mr. Tenzee sherpa and on the 2nd Aug 2010 the Mr. R.B. Subba minister RWD paid visit and was attended by Mr. Sunju Pradhan Player of East Bengal and Captain Sikkim team for Sontash Trophy 2010.
