FIRST NEPALI TO PASS NET IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION

A young and dynamic tribal boy, Master Awashes Subba from Singla TE Darjeeling get through the highest educational hurdle in national level. It was a dream come true for him and his parents and history for Nepali Community and inspiration for those young who wants to pursue sports as career. He is youngest child to Mr. M.B. Subba and Lt. Saraswati Subba.
He was very talented from his childhood and was selected for SAI and got his training from SAI hostel Lebong Darjeeling. After his schooling in St. Michel school and RKSP Darjeeling, he got his Bachelors Degree in Arts from St. Joseph’s college. Meanwhile, he got his excellence in football and played Santosh Trophy 2004 for Sikkim, his Majesty’s Birthday cup 2000 for Darjeeling Eleven in Kathmandu , Kolkata professional League 2003-04 for Peerless club kolkata, inter university football tournament for North Bengal university and Kalyani university Kolkata and First Division League 2004 for United Sikkim Club. His interest in sports made him join Kalyani University Kolkata for B.P. Ed. and then M.P. Ed. which his got through in first division. He passed SSC west Bengal 2009 and got appointed in Gandhi High School Bagdaggra as PE Teacher. He prepared his NET exams from his small and cozy room in Shivmandir, Siliguri and got through it . He says career should match with the interest and passion so that it provide ample opportunities to enhance and contribute his worth to the organization and widen the spectrum of the knowledge.

SARASWATI PUJA @ RUMBUK JHS

Government junior secondary school Rumbuk celebrated Saraswati puja on 28th Jan 2012 at School Hall to please the Godness of wisdom. The puja was organized by the school managing committee, ex-student , staff of Rumbuk school headed by the headmaster Mr. P. D. Rai. This is the second time the puja is being conducted after 2011 and has observed to have positive result on the student says the Headmaster. Puja was conducted with the contribution collected from the every villager and other dignitaries by the student . The puja showed huge turn of student and others over despite being winter vacation. The puja was attended by Panchayat President Mr. Deepak Subba Rumbuk GPU, Headmaster Reshi Secondary school Mr. B.R Sharma, Redt. Headmaster Mr. D. P. Chettri and other senior citizen of the village.

EPCS Youth convention 2012 in RUMBUK

The 19th state level annual youth convention 2012 of Evangelical Presbyterian Church Youth fellow Sikkim was organized at GJHS Rumbuk Playground, near Sombarey West Sikkim, from 24th Jan 2012 to 27th Jan. 2012. The convention of youth wing of Evangelical Presbyterian Church Sikkim (EPCS) is conducted every year for spiritual, physical, intellectual and social awareness among Christians youth of the State.
The theme of this year is “flee from your lives, don’t look back”. (Genesis 19:17)

The programme started with registration followed by enter district Cricket tournament , in which the west zone was the winner and runner-up was south zone. The formal programme started with the welcome by Rev. P.S. Tingboo to guest of the day Mr. Milan Rai BDO Sikkip and Mr. N.T Lepcha Zilla member, other local dignitary , special guest from various church and youth participants from all over Sikkim. The youth from 100 EPCS are participating with 700 members registered by the time of press release by Programme Secretary Ms. Solomi lepcha .
The special attraction of the programme are ;
Swar lahar final elimination round
Choir competition
Bible quiz, dance, poem competition
and special cultural show.
There is a special session for social issue like :
1. Drug abuse in youth
2. HIV/AIDS
3. Women trafficking

About 1000 participant and 300 local guest attended the opening ceremony prayer of the convention.

TEACHER TRAINING

10 days teaching proficiency training is going on from 16th Jan to 25th Jan 2012. the training is to scan hard spot in the text book of science from class VI to Class X and try to find solution to execute it with discussion and suggestion from the resource person . the training is going under the direction of DY. Director Mrs. Sabita Subba, SIE Gangtok. the teacher attending the training is about 42 in strength and are from almost all schools of the west district. Sikkim.The training is refreshing and sharing experiences among teachers .
